"I note with great pleasure that your firm received an outstanding performance evaluation for the construction of the C-17 Corrosion Facility.  Few contracts earn this high evaluation.  You rate among the best..."

"Thank you for making this project so successful."

C-17 Corrosion Control Facility, McChord AFB

The C-17 Corrosion Control Facility Project involved the construction of a new, state-of-the-art, 46,500 square foot maintenance hangar for the C-17 Globemaster 3 Aircraft.  Sitework and foundations for the new facility consisted of demolition of the previous structure, contaminated soil removal, site utilities, asphalt paving, structural excavation and backfill, cast-in-place foundations, grade and tie beams, and slab-on-grade with a light reflective coating and sealer.

Approximately 1,400 tons of structural steel, steel joists and metal decking comprise the main structural shell.  The siding and roof construction included metal insulated wall and roof panels with translucent panels allowing indirect daylight into the hangar.  The hangar opening is enclosed by a six-leaf sliding door spanning 200 feet.  The project includes four telescoping service mast platforms supported by the building trusses that will allow for entire plane coverage during maintenance operations and a high capacity ventilation system operational during aircraft painting/coating operations.
